GENERAL INFORMATION FOR REUNION 2008
To make reservations at the Holiday Inn Sunspree, call 1-800-465-4329 or 757-428-1711 and make sure you identify yourself as being with the VA-176 Reunion. The group cost per night is $89.00 plus taxes.
There are two RV parks available for active duty or retired members of the armed services. You must have a retired or active duty ID card to stay on base. At NAS Oceana the Ocean Pines RV Park there are 74 sites available. Call 757-417-7140 to make reservations. At Naval Aux Base Dam Neck there are 24 sites available, 20 and 30-amp service only. Call 757-492-7545 to make reservations.
There are two off base RV parks available. KOA located at 1240 General Booth Blvd, 757-428-1444 and Holiday Travel park located at 1075 General Booth Blvd, 757-426-0249
The OFFICIAL GROUP PHOTOGRAPH will be taken at 6:00 pm, Saturday 4 October 2008, in the Skytop Room, Holiday Inn, Sunspree Hotel. Please assemble as the photographer suggests. The photographer will be available to take individual photographs during the rest of the evening. There will be no charge for the photos unless you wish to purchase them.
The Friday night Cocktail Party will be held in the Cape Henry Croatian Room located in the Holiday Inn Hotel Sunspree. Heavy Hor D Oeuvres will be provided. There will be a cash bar available. Festivities begin at 7:00pm.
On Saturday night we will meet in the Skytop Room for our closing Dinner. Three entrees will be provided. Make your selections prior to your arrival! Cocktails will be served from 5:30pm to 7:00pm (Cash Bar). Our sit down dinner will be served between 7:00pm and 8:00pm. From 8:00pm until 10:00pm our guest MC will take over. If anyone has a favorite VA-176 story to tell, please feel free to do so.
For the golfers – Tee times will be reserves for both Friday and Saturday mornings. Currently, thirty golfers can be accommodated. Please sigh up in the Hospitality Room. Tee times will be posted.
Valet parking will be available for the Friday and Saturday night events for those not staying at the hotel. There is a “U” shaped court at the entrance to the Hotel “Oceanside” where you can meet your Valet.
The Hospitality room is located on the first floor of the Holiday Inn (The Dolphin Room). We need volunteers to help man the Hospitality Room. If you can spare some free time please sign up when you register.
Remember to bring your photographs, cruise books, film of anything of interest to others. It’s always interesting to see how we looked when we were younger.
